Animal Print or not?

I think there is a stigma associated with animal prints. They are very risque and when I asked a few people what they thought about when I mentioned animal prints, they immediately responded with:

"prostitute?"
"umm...moulin rouge?"
"Uh...that rapper? Lil Kim?"
"Tarzan, de-definitely Tarzan, yeah."
"Dirty. I just think dirty."
"Jane" (from Tarzan)
"tacky!"

I used to think animal prints were so tacky and dramatic. When someone mentioned animal prints to me, I immediately thought of Cruella DeVil. Recently I've been seeing it around a lot lately and I am actually yearning for a little leopard print to add to my wardrobe; nothing crazy though. I think in order for animal print to work, a little has to be worn at a time. So for instance, If i purchased a large leopard print boho bag, I would wear it with solid colors; NO other animal prints because it would be overdoing it. I think animal prints are sophisticated when worn properly. Otherwise, one could end up looking like so:

Playing with wild prints is a very dangerous game. Here is the safe way to play! Be a minimalist!

Pixie Geldof

I love the animal print flats! This is possibly my favorite animal print item!

Little my little I am incorporating animal print into my wardrobe and I look forward to getting more!

Jessica Alba looks AMAZING in that dress and Pixie's bag is so cute! There're TONS of animal prints in F21 and I think it is before long when I finally grab a piece to add to my closet.

I'm totally lovin' the zebra scarf, and I had been lusting after zebra-print flats for quite a few seasons.

Leopard print done right can be so awesome. I always thought that leopard is a little too feral for my tastes, but I came across a pair of black pumps with just a leetle bit of leopard print behind a black bow, and those shoes are so cute, not a bit catty at all.
